Community Engagement Events
The document linked below outlines the types of events, anticipated timing and content for all engagement activities for the Davis General Plan Update process from beginning to end. It also highlights when the City and Consultant team will have work periods with limited community engagement.
During any of the outlined work periods, the public can still submit comments directly through the website at any time. Some comments may come in after we’ve passed a milestone on which the comment focuses, but all submitted comments will be reviewed and considered.
This is for reference purposes. Please note: dates are estimated and are subject to change.

The General Plan Update is an ongoing process involving multiple phases:

-
Listening and Discovery: The process begins by gathering input from the community and local commissions to establish a shared vision for the community's future. We'll identify key issues and opportunities and create technical reports to guide the planning process.
-
Land Use and Mobility Plan Development: Next, we'll explore different land use and transportation options with the community and commissions. We'll revise maps and start defining important policy directions for the General Plan.
-
Policy Development and Plan Preparation: Updates will be made to each section of the General Plan. We'll present an outline, structure and policy ideas to the community and commissions for feedback and input.
-
Public Plan Review: The Draft General Plan will be shared with the community and commissions for review, allowing everyone to give their feedback on the proposed Plan.
-
Final Plan Review and Adoption: The final draft of the General Plan, including public input, will be presented to decision-makers for approval. A web-based version of the General Plan will also be made available.
